CLFNA Email Group
If you are a member of the Casa Linda Forest Neighborhood
Association you can post notices and easily communicate with other members at
CLFNA Members | Google
Groups.
Our CLFNA Email Group is now being used to distribute crime
reports, crime alerts, event notifications and other important communications.
Members are able to send one Email to the group and it will automatically
distribute the Email to all participating members of CLFNA.
For example, if someone is looking for a lost dog or cat, send
an Email to the group at
CLFNA-Members@googlegroups.com and it is automatically be distributed to all
members. You can see how useful this is when you are looking for a piano
teacher, handyman, babysitter or other help and advice.
To participate, you must be a member of the association. This
is a private Email group. Spammers are kept out and your Email address is kept
secret.
How to join and Use the CLFNA Email Group
The CLFNA Email Group is a private message board is hosted by
Google Groups. At the end of these instructions you will be asked to enter your
Email address and click "Subscribe. Before doing so read and print these
instructions.
After you "Subscribe" follow the instructions on the screen. You
will receive an Email from Google Groups to "Confirm Your Subscription". When
you click on the confirmation link it will load your browser and take you to the
CLFNA Members "Join This Group" screen.
To join follow the instructions on the screen. You must provide
your name, address, and membership status. The CLFNA Group Administrator is sent
an Email with your Request to join the group. You will receive an Email
approving your membership or an Email from the Administrator with additional
questions.
The CLFNA Email Group is a private group. All requests for
membership are approved by the CLFNA Board of Directors. This usually takes 1-2
days. Only approved members can view group information and participate in the
Email distribution.
Postings to the CLFNA Email Group are automatically broadcast to
all members. After your request to join the group has been approved you have two
methods to send a posting to all of the members of the group. You can send an
email to
CLFNA-Members@googlegroups.com or go to the site at
CLFNA Members | Google
Groups.
When members send Emails or post at the site an Email is sent to
you with the posting message. Members can view all Emails posts by going go to
the site and selecting "Discussions".
The purpose of the CLFNA Email Group is to provide a forum for
notices and announcements for the general benefit of Membership of the
Association. The posting of messages for commercial benefit are not allowed and
could result in the revocation of the group membership.
Examples of common uses for the CLFNA Email Group include: CLFNA
event notifications, crime notification and discussion, lost pet notification,
general discussion of items related to our neighborhood and local community.
Optionally, you can join Google Groups and then submit a request
to join the group. Joining Google groups allows you to update your profile, look
at other member profiles, submit and change pages and other functions. You do
not have to have a Google Group account to be a member of the CLFNA Email Group.
If you join Google Groups before joining the CLFNA Email Group you still must
join the CLFNA Email Group.
Joining Google Groups allows you to change how you receive your
Emails from the group. You can change your setting from Email (one each time an
Email is sent to the group) or to Digest (you receive a daily summary of all
Emails sent to the group).
Now, enter your Email address in the box below and click
