Beautification Report
June 2008
Again, we are indebted to Kristi Miller and her crew of "Mowen
Lawns" for keeping Mercer entrance always looking superb during the year,
without any charge to us.
Thanks also to Jim Bartkus and all who volunteered during the year to keep
the Westglen entrance well trimmed and watered. We also want to express our
appreciation to Raymond Slovacek, although not one of the regular volunteers, on
his own cleaned up the last leaves that fell at Westglen entrance and the Ash
Creek Bridge - THATS A GOOD NEIGHBOR!
Our Yard of the Month awards began with: George and Joan Sparks of 9315
Springwater for April Raymond and Yvonne Slovacek of 9006 Westglen for May
Carlos and Yvonne Torralva of 8909 Vinewood for June As we try to make our
entrances beautiful during the summer, certain plants need to be moved and some
removed. Also some freeze damage to the Asian Jasmine at Mercer had to be
replanted, with the help of Joan Woods.
The Redbud tree was planted at the Westglen entrance as a tribute to Betty
Grumbles, wife of Bill Grumbles, a long-time Board member and our "sign man".
Norman Ghyst is helping to water the tree until it gets established.
Respectfully submitted by Gerhard Schuttger
